“You’re up early!” said Tui.

“Well, you know what they say…” said Lester.

“That a person in the claw is worth ten in the city?”

“No, no – the other one. Oh! Did you see that?”

“What?”

“That down there, I saw it moving I think. Hold on, I’m going to investigate.”

Lester flew down to the forest floor and hurriedly investigated by rustling the leaf litter.

“Anything?” shouted Tui.

“Nah, nothing. I’m coming back up.”

“Good morning, Bluen. It’s another beautiful day in paradise!”

“It truly is!” said Lester “What a day to be alive!”

Bluen blinked against the sunlight, cute as a button in downy feathers.

“God, pipe down would you? I’d rather be asleep.”

“Aw, come now – look at the sun and the sky and the beautiful bounties nature has given us!”

“Not interested. Fed up of worms, fed up of the cold and fed up of the racket you all make so early in the morning. As soon as I’m old enough, I’m straight out of here.”

“Don’t say that, Bluen! You have a lovely life here, we all care for you.”

“It’s soooo boring here though. I’m going to go somewhere where people appreciate my talents.”

“Bluen, you will appreciate this all when you get older – this is just a phase!”

“Ugh, I won’t. Nothing ever happens here,  it’s…”

“Oh! I saw something!” said Lester, launching down to the ground again.

“Anything?” shouted Tui.

“Nah, false alarm.”

“Uh, you guys are so annoying.
